Meals from the Masters Weekend
In the last ten years, over $4 million has been raised to support the Meals on Wheels Program throughout through our award-winning culinary events. The mission of Meals On Wheels Delaware is to ensure, through the provision of financial and human resources, that every eligible person in the State of Delaware receives a hot, nutritious meal in their home. Meals on Wheels Delaware supports that mission by offering a Meals from the Masters Weekend which includes the following events:

Evening With The Masters
Friday, April 17th, 2009, 6 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 each
With 30 top area restaurants, simultaneous cooking demonstrations by the Culinary Institute of America and Johnson & Wales University, a live wine auction, silent auction, live music and dancing, the Evening With The Masters is a high energy, highly memorable culinary event. Attracting well over 1,500 attendees in its fifth year, the event delights loyal constituents as well as introduces new and younger audiences to the MOWD family of culinary events.

Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction Friday, April 17th, 2009, 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Entrance fees are included in the Evening With The Masters ticket prices In order to capitalize on the natural marriage of food and wine, the Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction is held during the Evening With The Masters. This live auction continues to attract rare donations of wines including bottles remarqued by noted American artists Jamie Wyeth and Frolic Weymouth.

Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch
Sunday, April 19th, 2009, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Tickets are $175 each
The annual Chefs’ Brunch is a world-class culinary extravaganza, hosting 34 world-class chefs as well as 1,300 guests for the ultimate four-hour gastronomical adventure. With breathtaking artistry, our award-winning National and International chefs prepare exotic dishes, such as Spiced Rum-Cured Foie Gras and Duck Pastrami on Petite Pumpkin English Muffins, Seared Buffalo Carpaccio, and Hibiscus Mousse. In addition, the event’s silent auction is Delaware’s largest, raising over $105,000 last year alone. The gourmet gem of the Brandywine Valley, the Chefs’ Brunch is also one of the top fundraisers for Meals On Wheels nationally!

Not Just Wines from the Masters
Several times a year, we hold exclusive wine, beer or sake dinners in private homes of distinction with the area’s most celebrated chefs who craft delectable menus. Rare and vintage wines are donated by some of the most notable collectors in the Brandywine Valley:

Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch

Downstate Delaware quickly rallied behind a great event for an important cause as well. In its fifth year, the master chefs’ Beach Brunch boasted 25 spectacular regional restaurants and hosted over 600 enthusiastic attendees, contributing $100,000 for Meals On Wheels Delaware. Held each October, and coming complete with a steel band and successful silent auction of unique and unusual items, the Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch is a colorful culinary delight.
